The Arts Are Us Players (Founded 1996)

Since our beginning in 1996, The Arts Are Us Players have made a concerted effort to be different.  We love theater, but we do not always hold with theatrical traditions.  Our plays are not always performed in a theater on a conventional stage, therefore, we must adapt to whatever "stage" is presented.

I can honestly say that we have met the challenge and have performed under many "unique" circumstances.  We "scare" most conventional actors, so our talent must often be recruited from sources other than theatrical.  As a result, we have a stable of irregular, but gifted thespians...who had no idea that they were thespians.  Some still have not performed on a traditional "stage", but make no mistake, they are actors just the same.

The Arts Are Us Players have been active for ten years and we have gained a reputation for professional performance and quality script writing.  We are very proud of our company and look forward to future challenges.

Sherlock Holmes:The Countess (October 2005)

A retelling of one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous Holmes adventures, The Final Problem.  Our version offered a "twist" while being most faithful to the original storyline.  This production served as a fundraiser for a most worthy organization, Grayson County Home Hospice.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson

Gil Nelson (Holmes) and John Bock (Watson) strike a rather sophisticated pose in their 225B Baker Street flat as they prepare for an evening at the opera. Bravo!
